Tests and your personal space

Website full and quick tests are scored in your browser without an account. Progress, history, journals, practice goals and reflection text are stored in this browser. Clearing site data or changing devices makes these local records unavailable; export a backup from your personal space. Research contribution and this site’s usage measurement are off by default. Basic visit analytics is on by default and can be turned off. Tests, results, saved practices and reflections work with every choice off.

Only the latest full assessment's answers are held temporarily in this tab for up to two hours. Reloading retains them; closing the tab, expiry or another full submission ends access. Share links and local history do not contain these answers. This feature does not upload them; research sharing remains a separate opt-in.

Optional research contribution

When you enable research contribution, future completed tests send answers, mode, assessment version and interface language. The server recomputes the type and scores, and records completion time and consent for that contribution. Research includes only consented, server-validated records for the current version, with quick and full tests separated. Legacy records are not retroactively treated as consented.

Public downloads contain individual de-identified type and dimension scores, mode, version, language and completion month, without raw answers or session identifiers. This is not an aggregate-only dataset. The self-selected sample can include repeated tests and does not represent unique people or population prevalence.

Turning contribution off stops future submissions. It does not delete existing contributions or recall copies others have downloaded. There is no account to reliably locate and link all of one person’s past contributions. Consider this limitation before contributing.

Research data and inclusion criteria

Optional visit analytics

Basic Google Analytics visit measurement is on by default; saved opt-outs remain in effect. It covers public content, assessments, results and personal tools, along with starts, completions, shares, action saves, reflection saves, navigation, scrolling and time spent. The Google tag runs on a separate origin and receives only filtered events. Known public content paths are retained; personal results and comparison results use generic paths. Raw query strings, fragments, answers, personal types, scores, personal record identifiers and text are not sent. Referrals retain only their origin or a sanitized internal page. Campaign attribution accepts a fixed list of source and medium categories; search terms and custom campaign names are excluded. Analytics cookies recognize browser sessions and return visits. Google also receives network metadata needed for requests and provides device and approximate-region statistics, so this is not fully anonymous. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled. You can stop future sending at any time; this does not delete data already received by Google. Research contribution and this site’s usage measurement remain separate and off by default.

Optional usage measurement

“Help improve the test and practice experience” is a separate choice. Previous research or Google Analytics consent does not enable it. If enabled, your browser sends future test start/completion, practice save, reflection save and meaningful-return events only to this site. The Jev experiment also sends assistance request, candidate shown, accept, dismiss, unavailable, helpful and unhelpful events. Events carry randomly generated browser, event and assessment-attempt identifiers; test mode is quick, full or Jev. The server records the receipt time.

These random identifiers deduplicate events, connect a test start with its completion, and measure return visits in the same browser. They are not fully anonymous. Jev descriptions, answers, personality types, scores, result links, goal content and reflection text are not sent. Metric requests omit cookies and referring-page addresses; the metric table does not store IP addresses or browser fingerprints. Our hosting provider still processes the network metadata needed to handle requests.

Browser analytics identifiers expire after 35 days and are cleared or renewed on the next visit. Server event records expire within 35 days and are normally removed by the next hourly cleanup. Turning this off stops future sending and clears this device’s analytics state. It does not immediately delete records already received; those expire under the retention policy. Event records are not included in public research downloads. Metrics describe opted-in browsers only. Different devices, cleared storage and identifier rotation can change counts, so they do not represent unique people.

Links, hosting and the API

Cloudflare provides hosting and database services. Opening pages, result links or share images involves processing request URLs and network metadata. Result links contain a type and scores, visible to recipients and services handling that link. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, whose provider receives those requests.

The API differs from the local website test: session API calls store answers on the server, and /api/calculate with save=true also saves answers and scores. Those operational records are excluded from public research by default. Data handling by third-party API clients also depends on those clients.
