Personality systems map
The same letters can come from different questionnaires. Start with the notation, then check the framework, instrument and website behind it.
A guide to selected systems, not a complete directory or an assessment. These labels do not determine ability, compatibility or mental health. OpenJung is independent of MBTI and 16Personalities.
What did your result look like?
Open an example to find relevant entries. These are clues about notation, not proof of which questionnaire you took.
INFP
Four letters alone do not identify a test. MBTI, NERIS and OEJTS-based sites can all show INFP; this list is not exhaustive. Check the original website and questionnaire version.
INFP-T
The -A / -T Identity suffix is used in 16Personalities’ NERIS framework. It is not a fifth MBTI preference pair. A copied code still does not authenticate its source.
OCEAN
OCEAN is shorthand associated with the Big Five trait model, not the name of one questionnaire. Check which scales and scoring rules produced the profile.
5w4
In Enneagram notation, 5w4 means a Five with a Four wing. It is not a score of five out of four, or an MBTI subtype.
64
“64 types” is not enough to identify a system. The entry below describes one named Japanese-language service, not a universal standard or an MBTI upgrade.
FCPE
FCPE is a Love Type 16 code described in the Japanese report cited below. Its letters refer to different pairs from MBTI, despite also using four letters.
Three things to keep separate
- Model
- The concepts used to describe differences. Big Five is a trait model, not one website or a single set of questions.
- Questionnaire
- The actual questions, response options and scoring rules. Different instruments can draw on the same model.
- Website & report
- Where you answered and how the result was presented. A familiar code or translated nickname does not establish which instrument was used.

MBTI
The Myers & Briggs Foundation describes four preference pairs: E–I, S–N, T–F and J–P. Their combinations name 16 types.
- Result format
- Four-letter type codes, such as INFP.
- Do not infer
- A four-letter result from another website is not automatically an official MBTI result. The letters are not skill ratings.

A platform’s own framework
16Personalities / NERIS
16Personalities describes NERIS as five spectra using reworked Big Five dimensions and a four-letter format plus a suffix. It explicitly does not incorporate Jungian cognitive functions.
- Result format
- A code such as INFP-T or INFP-A, with five scale results.
- Do not infer
- The A/T suffix belongs to this convention. Neither shared letters nor similar trait names make NERIS, MBTI and Big Five scores interchangeable.

Questionnaire / independent adaptation
OEJTS / OpenJung
The Open Extended Jungian Type Scales were developed as an independent alternative using four scales. OpenJung’s full questionnaire adapts OEJTS 1.2; OpenJung is not the original instrument or official MBTI.
- Result format
- Four scale results and a four-letter label in OpenJung.
- Do not infer
- OEJTS item selection using self-typed participants does not validate OpenJung’s adaptation, quick test or translations. Those have no published dedicated validation study.

Trait model; multiple instruments
Big Five / OCEAN
Describes personality through five broad continuous traits rather than a required set of 16 types. IPIP Big-Five Factor Markers are one example of scales used to measure five traits.
- Result format
- A profile of five trait scores; the range, labels and reference group depend on the instrument.
- Do not infer
- A percentage may be a rescaled score or a percentile; read that report’s key. IPIP uses Emotional Stability and Intellect/Imagination labels. Do not assume identical labels, polarity or norms across tests.

Other type conventions & service-specific labels
Nine-type framework
Enneagram
Uses the numbers 1–9 for types. In the cited convention, a wing is one of the two neighboring numbers on the circle.
- Result format
- A number, or notation such as 5w4: Five with a Four wing.
- Do not infer
- The number is not a ranking. A wing is not a fifth MBTI letter, and a four-letter type does not establish an Enneagram type.

Service-specific classification
64 types: one Japanese service
64personalities-lifepath.com lists six pairs: E/I, S/N, T/F, J/P, A/T and C/S (Collaborative/Solitary). It states that it is unrelated to MBTI and 16Personalities.

- A six-letter combination such as the site’s INTJ-AC example.
- Do not infer
- This describes only that service. “64” does not establish a shared standard, greater precision or an official MBTI extension.

Relationship-themed classification
Love Type 16
A 2025 Japanese report describes L/F, C/A, R/P and O/E pairs. It gives FCPE as Follow, Cuddly, Passionate and Earnest, nicknamed 忠犬ハチ公.
- Result format
- Four letters and a character name, with meanings different from MBTI.
- Do not infer
- This is not MBTI’s relationship edition. A character nickname cannot establish compatibility, commitment or another person’s behavior.

Questions worth asking before comparing results
Can I convert INFP into Big Five scores or an Enneagram type?
Not from the label alone. This map contains no conversion table. A result from another questionnaire requires that instrument’s own questions and scoring; even group-level correlations would not determine an individual’s scores.
Does the same code mean the same thing in every language?
Check the provider, instrument version and language version first. Translation availability does not by itself establish measurement equivalence. Nicknames and community slang can also differ across languages.
Which one should I choose?
Start with the purpose. For a trait profile, look for a named instrument, documented scoring and evidence relevant to your language and use. For a conversation, ask about the actual situation rather than treating a label as an explanation. None of these labels is a diagnosis.
